West Ridge is located to the west of Ridge Boulevard and Rogers Park, to the south of Howard Street and Evanston, to the east of the Chicago River, and to the north of Bryn Mawr and Ravenswood.

With thriving immigrant enclaves, solid middle-class sensibilities, historic architecture, and plenty of green space, West Ridge is a fantastic North Side residential neighborhood. A stretch on Devon Avenue has been dubbed as "Little India," featuring fantastic food from all over the subcontinent, Bollywood-themed nightlife and video rentals, as well as Indian and Pakistani boutiques and book stores. Elsewhere, the neighborhood is largely residential, but there are a few good local sports taverns, karaoke bars, hookah lounges and coffee houses.

One of the best attractions is the ample parkland in West Ridge. There is plenty of green space, and numerous athletic facilities for every sport, from basketball courts to golf courses.
There are no CTA train stations in West Ridge, but there is ample bus service, little traffic and plenty of street parking.
