Chicago's Uptown neighborhood is an historic center of leisure and entertainment, complete with vintage high rises, grand theaters, and classic concert halls.  Uptown includes the smaller neighborhoods of Buena Park, Sheridan Park and Margate Park.

Perfect for those who...

Want to live in an rejuvenating neighborhood with historic Chicago charm.  Want steady access to the Red Line, fantastic ethnic foods and plenty of entertainment options.  More nightlife than Ravenswood and Rogers Park, less expensive than Lincoln Park or Lakeview.

Location:

Uptown is bounded to the west by Ravenswood Avenue, to the north by Foster Avenue, to the east by Lake Michigan, and to the south by Irving Park Road.

What it is like to live in Uptown:

The intersection of Lawrence and Broadway is dominated by imposing music venues, but elsewhere, Uptown is a vibrant, actively revitalizing neighborhood, full of coffee houses, cozy cafes and pubs .  Along Argyle Street is Chicago's "New Chinatown" or "Little Saigon" district, home to many fantastic Southeast and East Asian restaurants serving everything from sushi and Beijing duck to banh mi and pho.

Attractions , Landmarks and Things to Do:

The gleaming marquees of the Aragon Ballroom and the Riviera Theater light up the night at Lawrence and Broadway, where some of the biggest concerts of the year take place.  Just across the street is a longtime jazz and poetry performance space, and notorious former Al Capone hangout, the Green Mill. Sprawling Montrose Beach along the lakefront has athletic facilities, harbor, nature area, skate park and a dedicated dog beach.

Transportation:

There are multiple CTA Red Line Stations in Uptown, as well is several more in nearby neighborhoods.  Lake Shore Drive runs along the lake in the neighborhood's East.

Close by to:

Lakeview's even more extensive nightlife and dining options are to the South.

Lincoln Square's and Ravenswood's charming streets and local business are to the West.

Edgewater's pleasant beaches and Loyola University are to the North.
